Affirmation: I am creating and maintaining weight-loss momentum

I am creating and maintaining weight-loss momentum through exercise, setting priorities, and taking short breaks.

I realize that living the stronger, healthier life I desire, making the most of my decision to undergo weight loss surgery, is a journey, not a sprint, and so I set my goals accordingly. I utilize positive strategies that will set me up for success while keeping me motivated throughout my weight loss journey.

Exercising my body and mind brings me energy for the long haul.

Physical activity helps me build a stronger body, oxygenates every cell in my body to re-energize them, and helps keep my brain sharp. It also produces endorphins, feel-good hormones, which help bolster my self-esteem and self-confidence.

Mental exercises are equally important! Just as I physically exercise every day that I can, I also work out my brain to maintain my motivation, positive attitude, and forward momentum. I keep my thoughts and attitudes in shape with daily affirmations for success.

Setting clear priorities makes for more effective time management throughout the days, weeks, months and years. I include my weight loss goals in my list of life priorities and schedule time every day for tasks that help me move toward success.

Taking short breaks rejuvenates me. When I take the time to relax, even for a few minutes, I find that potentially negative stress melts away and l can re-focus on my goals and what I really want to accomplish. I come back to work on the small, medium and long terms goals within my plan for success with renewed energy, passion, and momentum.

These strategies keep me going, moving forward to my goals, day in and day out. They help me overcome challenges – small or large – that try to slow my positive progress.

Today, I afford myself the privilege of incorporating these successful strategies into my self-development and self-improvement routine so that I can maintain my positive momentum toward my weight loss goals.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I choose to incorporate exercise into my life on a regular basis?
  2. Even when life is most hectic, do I take time out for myself?
  3. What are my priorities for today? Do they include actions that move me toward success beyond surgery?
