Here in North America, Spring is upon us and the anticipation for summer is building. Everything around us transforms in the period from Spring to Summer – plants that were simply buds begin to flower, growth is everywhere, and all kinds of living creatures are growing and changing.
Transformation is defined via Dictionary.com as:
- The act or process of transforming.
- The state of being transformed.
- Change in form, appearance, nature, or character.
Are YOU ready for your transformation? Spring is a great time to ‘start over’ and many people do just that…taking their inspiration from the world around us. Plants, animals, everything seems to be changing and starting over in the Spring. Now that we’re on the threshold of Summer, it’s time to put the emphasis on growing into your potential. Transformation is within your grasp!
If you haven’t thought about your own personal transformation, it’s NEVER too late! Spring encourages us to grow and change – it’s all around us, with examples from the very small to the very large. Whether your inspiration comes from plants or animals, all it takes is for you to open your eyes, slow down or actually stop for a few minutes, and take deliberate notice of what’s around you.
We’ve left the long, seemingly unending winter behind – and the past winter was a ROUGH one! There are lovely scents in the air as flowering trees show off their new Spring buds – the song of birds can be heard again in the morning to kick off our day, and as they sing to each other and their new offspring.
Summer, with its long warm days and cooler nights, is another great time to refocus your thoughts and actions to a more positive direction. Whether you are feeling stuck in your physical self and wishing you were more fit and strong; stuck in your emotional self and wishing you were more confident about your own worth; or stuck in a negative mindset that has you believing you can’t achieve your goals, now is the time to break free and set the wheels of Transformation in motion.
Take advantage of the longer days – plan to use those extra hours of daylight to make positive and effective steps toward your desired transformation. Take a class, visit the local library, do some targeted internet research and get the information you need to create a tangible, step-by-step plan to set some SMART goals and kick your Transformation plan into gear. Try not to get lost in the ‘analysis’, but do get the information you need to take those first positive steps and get the positive momentum going.
Once you’ve found the info, create the steps. Remember the focus on SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-based – and don’t wait until you have the entire answer laid out, get started! Pick something to move you forward on your Transformational path every single day.
Even 15 – 30 minutes of activity, performed on a daily basis, will help you to move forward in ways you may not be able to imagine until you TRY IT. Don’t give up – make a commitment to stay on your path for 30, then 60, then 90 days and challenge yourself to see how much positive change you can achieve in that time frame. The daily action is one key – the other is CONSISTENCY.
Don’t give up – if you have a temporary setback, know that you CAN keep going. Keep taking steps forward – even baby steps forward are still steps forward – and you WILL reach your destination. Transformation is not necessarily easy, but its so very rewarding, and it’s within YOUR grasp.
